Current Newsletter - December
2012 Nonprofit Focused
Student Project.
A new national study by the HR Council for
the Nonprofit Sector reports that many executive directors are dealing
with a high level of stress and that this is a factor in retaining
organizational leaders. The study does not reveal the causes of this
stress or how individuals and organizations are responding
constructively to it.
Stress is one of the topics covered in most
organizational behaviour courses. If you are willing to be interviewed
about your experience with workplace stress you could help a team of
five second year Dalhousie management students look a little more
closely at this issue. They will be expected to develop a report on
stress in the nonprofit sector and present on it this Fall. The course
instructor, Grant MacDonald is seeking 10 -15 executive directors as
possible interviewees for this student project. If you are willing to
volunteer please contact him. (grant.macdonald@dal.ca)
